MPFD – OmniGraffle Professional

Mac Programs For Designers post number 3 is on OmniGraffle Professional. OmniGraffle is a program that helps you put together diagrams, process charts, page layout, brainstorms, and wireframes for websites and graphic design layouts.

The program works by selecting the diagram type that you want, and when that opens, in the left window pane you add a topic, and to that you can add child, siblings, and parent et cetera. And this adds them into the main window. As you can see from the screen shots below you then go through and rename “Topic”. And you can also restyle the default design, in terms of colour, font, and alignment.

I normally use OmniGraffle to brainstorm my ideas, as it is a quick way of getting your ideas down digitally. I have also used this to make a website hierarchy map. To purchase OmniGraffle you can do so from the applestore. Or from the Omni Group website.
