This post is a review on Calibre which is a program I have on my Mac. Calibre is a great program that is simple to use, but more importantly it is a program that is needed.
Since having my Kindle, I found that some of the books I downloaded were not of a epub file format, and I couldn't put them on my kindle. Not knowing what to do I Googled something along the lines of "How to convert mobi to epub"

And that is when I came across Calibre, which is free program for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It can be downloaded by following this link.
I suppose Calibre is like Font Sleuth, or iTunes. Or like any other management program available. It is a program where you can store and easily search through your books, I find it easier just deleting books I don't want through Calibre rather than doing it through the Kindle. (I usually delete some of the free books I couldn't get into) And this is made possible because you can sync your Kindle device to Calibre.
Calibre also allows you to convert books, as mentioned above this is what I originally wanted the program for. (To see the list of conversion file formats click here.) It is really easy to convert a file format; Calibre will recognise the input file format and then from the drop down list you can select the format you want. And it will convert it for you, and you can also do bulk conversions, if you have a lot of books to convert.
Below is a screenshot of my Calibre library:
My library currently has 212 books in it, most of which are on my Kindle, others, are not on my Kindle, either because I have already read them, or I just haven't got round to sending them to my Kindle, because I have quite a few books to get through first!!
I highly recommend downloading this program if you have an eBook reader.
