As I was preparing for the Made In Brunel exhibition, I realised that I did not have any business cards. So I was going to design some in Photoshop and print them, but then as I like to be creative I thought it would be fun to make them by hand.
I used my John Bull Printing Outfit, that I inherited from my Great Auntie Florie. As you can tell from the photo it is very very old. And I haven't been able to find them online, but I am sure you could search for them on eBay.
The ink that was with the set had dried up, so I used a black ink pad from Hobby Craft. It was a bit fiddly handling the type as they are tiny! Took a few attempts to get the printed text to come out correctly, and as my John Bull Set is not complete I didn't have quite enough letters.
The paper I printed on was bought about 7 years ago from Stationary Box. But I have sourced out an alternative on eBay here.
To complete the business card I added a strip of decorative paper, but washi tape would work even better.
After the type was set up these were really easy and quick to do, plus it was fun to do!
