Description: A children’s ballet teacher first created this app five years ago; it was in a flash card learning system. It is still aimed at children as the developer believed that children learn better from saying, seeing and doing; the child can say the term, and the term spoken back to them, they can also watch a video of the step being performed and also see the spelling of the key term.
Features: searchable
glossary, over 140 key terms, over 77 videos, practice pronouncing the term
with voice recognition technology, hear the term spoken aloud, watch videos of
the step, see photographs / pictures of the position, and test your knowledge
with the quiz.
What problem does the app solve? The app allows child to look up ballet terms by saying the term aloud. And to see the definition, as well as a video or photograph demonstrating the term.

What products have you
seen that perform a similar task? There is another ballet glossary available
from the app store, but that just offers a glossary with photographs.
How do apps navigate
from screen to screen? To get from screen to screen there is a bottom
navigation toolbar, and on each of the main screens there are tap-able areas,
such as key terms.
How do they organise
information? Information is displayed in lists, and some of the lists have
thumbnail images, which make the page, look more visually exciting.
The app icon is relevant to the app, and it is a beautiful app icon to have on your iPhone / iPod / iPad.

The name “SayBallet”
is to the point and would be understood by most people, as the app is about
ballet and you say it to look it up.
